“You Have an Anointing”

We are continuing with our series entitled “Israel: “God's timepiece.” Prophecy is being fulfilled that is counting down to the return of Christ and the nation of Israel will be in the center of it. But today I want to turn my attention towards a person/entity who will come and have a great influence on the nation of Israel. You may have heard of him - he is known as the Antichrist.

The word “Antichrist" is only used in one book of the Bible and that is in first and second John. John is the only one who uses the term Antichrist although the character “Antichrist” is known by probably at least 10 other names throughout the Old Testament and New Testament.

1st John 2:18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

Now John wrote this 2,000 years ago; well John must have got mixed up somehow, is it still the last hour? Yes, it is, this dispensation of grace could end at any moment. We could move at any time from the age of grace into the time of tribulation that will bring about the Day of the Lord. God is not slack in waiting to bring about the end of the world - He wills that all people will come into relationship with Him.

In the last days before the arrival of the Antichrist more and more “Christians” will be seduced away and will be willing to negotiate on who Jesus is, as the Son of God. Temptation will come to give way to tolerance and inclusiveness. It will take people away from what they know to be true and cause them to deny Jesus as Messiah or as the Son of God. It is the spirit of antichrist.

1 John 2:20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.

The word “anointing" literally means a smearing. That the Holy Spirit has been applied to your spirit, your heart - your spirit is alive to the things of God. If your spirit is alive to His Spirit we have a knowing, a discernment. Jesus calls the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Truth in John 15 . You know all things pertaining to truth and deception, you know that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, that He is the Son of God. You know that the Antichrist is one who will be against Christ and will try to be a replacement for Christ. John says Jesus is the Son of God, He is the Messiah and if you believe and live in the truth of Jesus as the Son of God you can't be led into deception.

Don't be a child as it pertains to these things…you’ve been on the road too long to be deceived John says. Fight the battle against the antichrist spirit…grow/mature into young men and women and eventually , we will mature into men and women who know their God.

1 John 2: 24b If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.
